LMIS BEST PRACTICES SUPPLIER GUIDE

1.      Logging In / Forgot Password / Forgot User Name

Log in to your account by going to www.lmis.org.    You must enter your user name and password.  If you do not remember your user name or password please follow the instructions to have this information sent to you.   If you would like to contact us to reset your password you can do this as well by calling us @ 631-325-1440 or emailing us directly @ info@lmis.org

 

2.      Updating Your Subscription
You must be logged into your lmis.org account
From the orange tool bar at the top of the page:

My Account” > “My Account Settings

Under the Billing/Payment Section select “Add/Edit Your Billing and Subscription Info
If you do not see this option, select the icon that says “log in for more options

You will be asked to log in again for security purposes.

At the top of page it states “Your Current Subscription”.
Make sure that it states:  “Tier 3 Supplier / List Inventory / Home Page / Specials / Free Trial

IF IT DOES NOT STATE THIS THEN FOLLOW BELOW INSTRUCTIONS:

Select the green button named “Change Subscription.”

Change subscription to: 
Select the option that states:   “Tier 3 Supplier / List Inventory / Home Page / Specials / Free Trial

Scroll to bottom of page and hit the “Save” button.     When asked when you would like to make these changes, select immediately.

 

3.       Updating your Contact Information and Homepage Website link
You must be logged into your lmis.org account
From the orange tool bar at the top of the page:

My Account” > “My Account Settings

Select  “Edit your registration

Make sure all contact info is correct and your website url is provided.   DO NOT INCLUDE http://

 

4.       Adding or Updating “My About” Section”
You must be logged into your lmis.org account and registered as a LMIS supplier
(Basic members do not have access to these pages.)

From the orange tool bar at the top of the page:   Select My Account

Scroll down the page to the My About Text Box.   Insert cursor into section to begin filling out the My About section.    This section is intended to let other companies learn more about your business.   When you have finished typing in this box, select the Update My About Section” button.

 

5.       Adding or Editing Your Company’s Category Types
You must be logged into your lmis.org account and registered as a LMIS supplier
(Basic members do not have access to these pages.)

From the orange tool bar at the top of the page:   Select My Account

Scroll down the page to the header “My Category Types and Business Description”
Select the “Edit” Button.   

Scroll down page to the My Category Types and Business Description header where you will see the following sub header:

As a registered supplier I would like to receive requests for quotes concerning the following items:  for ex. Perennials, Hard Goods, etc.

 

Check all categories that apply and then selectSubmit Category Types Button

Note: Follow similar steps as above to update your “My Inventory Is Seen By” section

 

 

6.       Add or Edit your Business Type Description
This is a brief description about your company and will appear in your LMIS company page above your contact information.   This description will also be visible on the supplier search page.


Ex.   We Specialize in Broadleaf Conifers

 

You must be logged into your lmis.org account and registered as a LMIS supplier
(Basic members do not have access to these pages.)

From the orange tool bar at the top of the page:   Select My Account

Scroll down to the bottom of the page where you will see the header “My Business Type Description

Select the Edit” Button.   Scroll to text box and type in your description.  Note that you will only be allotted 50 characters max.   An error message will appear for anything over 50 characters.
Select Submit Description” when complete.

7.       Adding Images to your LMIS company home page
You must be logged into your lmis.org account and registered as a LMIS supplier
(Basic members do not have access to these pages.)

From the orange tool bar at the top of the page:   Select My Account

Scroll down the page to the My Photos section and look for the header labeled “Upload a Photo
Select the “Browse” button and locate the photo file you would like to upload from your computer or other device.    
(Note that large images may receive an error message.   Resize these images on your computer as web images or no greater than approx. 1.5 MB file and retry. )

Once a photo has been loaded onto the LMIS photo view it may be edited for size, color, brightness etc.    When finished with the photo, select the post button.   Repeat this process and add up to 10 photos for your company supplier page.

 

8.       Adding Specials to the LMIS Specials page
You must be logged into your lmis.org account and registered as a LMIS supplier
(Basic members do not have access to these pages.)

From the orange tool bar at the top of the page:   Select My Account

Select the button at the top labeled “Create New Special

Select a category for your special and continue by filling out all text boxes regarding your special/promotional item.   You may add up to 3 images per special.    The large image will be used on the specials homepage for all members to view.  The other smaller images will be used on the detail page about your specials.   Images may be edited for size, color, brightness using the photo image software on LMIS.ORG. Remember to save the special by selecting the button at the bottom of the page when finished.
Hint:  For the large image – horizontal or landscape images generally look better on the specials homepage.
(Note: large images over 1.5 MB may receive an error message, please save files as web document size or less than 1 MB for optimal use.)

9.       Adding or Editing Inventory
You can now list an unlimited amount of inventory listings on LMIS as a nursery supplier.   Use the excel spreadsheet as provided by LMIS administrator to fill out your items, save file, and send back to info@lmis.org to load. 

Once your inventory has been loaded onto the site you can resend excel form to info@lmis.org or edit your inventory manually online by logging into your account.

Go to www.lmis.org > my account > Edit my inventory
